Verified without
exposed.
Venues know you’re verified. They don’t know your date of birth, your case number, your home address, or your government ID. They never needed any of that. They needed to know you’re real. That’s all they get.
Proof, not data.
Every time.
Traditional identity verification has a fatal flaw: to prove you’re over 21, you hand someone a card that reveals your exact birthday, your full legal name, your home address, and your license number. They needed one fact. They got seven.
WhosReal gives them the one fact they actually need. The verification proves the claim is true. Nothing that isn’t needed for that proof ever leaves your record.
The technical term is zero-knowledge proof.
The practical term is: nobody else’s business.
How we prove the thing
without showing the thing.
You don’t have to understand cryptography for this to work for you. But here’s the plain-English version for those who want it.
You want to prove you know the password to a safe without opening it. Zero-knowledge proofs let you do exactly that. The safe stays closed. The proof still holds.
When WhosReal verified your identity, we created a cryptographic proof. That proof can be checked by any platform in the ecosystem without ever calling back to our server or re-exposing your raw identity data.
Your raw identity data (ID scan, government records) is used once during verification and then discarded. We don’t store your SSN. We don’t store your DOB. We store the proof that those things met our verification threshold.
The WRID and its associated fields are yours. You control what each platform is allowed to read. OIDC scopes define exactly which fields any given integration can request — and you can see exactly what each platform has requested.
Benefits recipients deserve
the same dignity as everyone else.
The current EBT experience is a study in unnecessary exposure. You stand at a register, pull out a state-issued card, tap a PIN, and wait while a system tries to confirm you qualify for the purchase you’re trying to make. The cashier watches. The line waits. Everyone knows.
With WhosReal, your EBT eligibility is verified on your WRID by the issuing authority. At checkout, the system confirms you qualify. Your case number — the actual sensitive data that links to your benefits record — never appears. The merchant sees a verified eligibility flag. The transaction completes. You move on.
The system proves you qualify. Your record stays private. That’s how it was always supposed to work.
OIDC scopes define
exactly what gets shared.
WhosReal is an OIDC-compliant identity provider. Every integration must declare which scopes it’s requesting, and those scopes are visible to you before you authorize any platform. Nothing is shared implicitly.
Integrations that only need to verify identity get the wrid:identity scope. Platforms that need token balance request wrid:wallet. Staffing platforms that need credentials request wrid:credentials. Nothing broader than what’s needed.
Verify once.
Share only what you choose to.
Create your WRID. Control your scopes. The ecosystem recognizes you. Your private records stay exactly where they belong.
